WE ARE COMMITTED TO ADVANCING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGHOUT OUR VALUE CHAIN, BUILDING DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE WORKPLACES AND INVESTING TO PROMOTE SHARED PROSPERITY IN LOCAL COMMUNITIES WHERE WE LIVE AND WORK
People & Prosperity
Around the world people work every day to power the food industry. From harvesting ingredients to loading lorries and stocking shelves, we rely on farmers, PepsiCo colleagues, retailers and many others to make and sell our products.
We are committed to advancing respect for human rights throughout our value chain, building diverse and inclusive workplaces and investing to promote shared prosperity in the communities where we live and work.
We have an interest in the success and wellbeing of our people and recognise that the key to our future success is creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Find out more.
Our work in the UK
Over half a million British children go to school without breakfast. Magic Breakfast addresses this need by providing nutritious breakfasts to over 30,000 children across nearly 500 primary, secondary and Special Educational Needs schools and Pupil Referral Units.
We're proud to have donated more than one million servings of Quaker porridge oats and over a million litres of Tropicana 100% pure fruit juice since our partnership began in 2009.
Sunbites is working in partnership with Care International on their Light Her Path initiative, aimed at giving girls the education they deserve. This brilliant scheme helps in lots of ways, including building learning centres that are powered by solar panels.
We're donating a minimum of £100,000 per year to Care International to fund this project. You can learn more about who they are and the other ways this fantastic charity improves the lives of women and children around the world here.
The UK’s biggest volunteer event, with more than ½ million people coming together to collect litter in their communities over the course of a month. We were a campaign partner and our team of #LitterHeroes across Reading, Leicester and Northern Ireland collected over 100 bags of litter as part of our partnership.
PepsiCo works with FareShare in the UK to help redistribute surplus food and have provided more than 28 tonnes of juice, porridge and snacks in 2018.
FareShare, with the help of an army of volunteers, work with almost 10,000 frontline charities and community groups. These groups provide enough food for nearly 36.7 million meals for more than 750,000 vulnerable people every week.
We are a founding partner of EIT Food, a pan-European partnership aimed at empowering innovators, entrepreneurs and students to accelerate innovation in food and future-proof the industry.
The partnership connects leading businesses, universities, research centres and institutes across 13 countries in Europe. Its aim is to develop a highly skilled food sector, collaborating with consumers to provide products, services and new technologies which deliver a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle for all European citizens.
We’re proud supporters of Sport Relief and donated around £800,000 to the charity this year alone. Every time shoppers bought one of our big-name brands in Sainsbury’s like Walkers, Doritos and Tropicana, we donated money to the valuable cause. We also provided volunteers manning the Sport Relief phone lines with over 200 packs of snacks to help keep them going through an undoubtedly busy time.
We’re proud to have supported GroceryAid for a number of years and were recently awarded Gold for our continued support of this national charity. GroceryAid offers support to people across the whole of the Grocery Industry whether they work in a factory, a store or within the head office. It’s something we raise awareness of throughout the year, ensuring our colleagues know they have a safe place to go when they need a little extra support.
In the wake of COVID-19, we wanted to support those in need and so have partnered with the Trussell Trust, a network of local food banks. We’ve committed more than £1m of support to the charity to help 1,200 local food banks.
