The PepsiCo Foundation has awarded a £210,000 grant to Felix, newly formed through the merger of FareShare and The Felix Project. This new grant comes as PepsiCo UK marks eight years of partnership with the charity in tackling food waste and supporting communities across the UK.
This latest funding will support two key Felix programmes, helping to build a more sustainable food system while creating meaningful opportunities for people in local communities - particularly in Leicester, home to our Walkers manufacturing site.
Turning surplus into support
A key focus of the partnership is Felix’s Surplus with Purpose programme, which works with farmers and producers to ensure good food doesn’t go to waste.
With support from the PepsiCo Foundation, more than 560 tonnes of surplus produce was rescued in 2025 - the equivalent of over 1.3 million meals* redistributed to people in need. By connecting surplus food with a growing network of charities and community organisations, the programme is helping to increase access to nutritious food while reducing waste across the supply chain.
Creating pathways into work
Alongside food redistribution, the partnership is also focused on supporting employability in Leicester.
Building on a successful first year, the PepsiCo Foundation is funding a second year of Felix’s employability programme, which provides workshops and one-to-one mentoring to help people prepare for work. In 2025 alone, the programme supported more than 665 local people, helping individuals build confidence, develop skills and secure opportunities - including apprenticeships in the local community.
Supporting communities nationwide
Our partnership with Felix goes beyond funding. Through ongoing product donations and volunteering, we continue to support Felix’s mission to get food to those who need it most.
Last year, PepsiCo UK donated more than 245 tonnes of food, reaching over 1,700 charities and community groups across Felix’s network.
A partnership driving positive impact
This work forms part of PepsiCo Positive, our strategy to create positive change for people and the planet.
As our partnership with Felix evolves, we remain committed to helping build a more sustainable, inclusive food system - from supporting farmers and reducing waste, to creating opportunities for people to thrive in their local communities.
Jason Richards, General Manager at PepsiCo UK & Ireland, said:
“Our partnership with Felix builds on eight years of impact, helping to connect surplus food with local communities through a growing network of organisations. This new grant from the PepsiCo Foundation will support Felix in its efforts to expand access to food and strengthen community support across the UK.”
Charlotte Hill, CEO at Felix, added:
“We are enormously grateful to the PepsiCo Foundation for their ongoing support… At a time when demand for our food is growing and people are struggling with the cost of living, we’re delighted to be furthering these programmes under our new name - Felix.”
