Copella set to spice up winter sales with new 'Winter Warmer'
The brand's first hot juice is infused with warming winter spices for cold winter evenings.
20 October 2011
Copella, the UK's No.1 apple juice brand* is launching a brand new Winter Warmer apple juice drink to the grocery channel in October. The drink is setting an exciting category first by becoming the first juice best enjoyed hot. Its launch will extend the juice drinking occasion, complementing the existing Copella range by providing consumers with a warming drink infused with winter spices for cold winter evenings. Copella Winter Warmer is being introduced to Sainsbury's from mid October in a 750ml format and will appear in Waitrose at the end of the month. Its introduction is perfectly timed ahead of National Apple Day, the annual celebration of the English apple.
George Eapen Marketing Manager, PepsiCo UK and Ireland, explained:
"Copella Winter Warmer has been developed specifically for the winter season and offers a fantastic new taste experience for consumers. We expect it to prove a strong favourite this winter, driving incremental category sales by offering consumers a fantastic hot juice drink for the winter season. The new drink will stand out on shelf with its warm, deep red colour and packaging, and we'll also be supporting its launch with in–store marketing activities."
As part of its ongoing Plant & Protect campaign, Copella is supporting National Apple Day by planting new apple trees and restoring older orchards at 15 National Trust sites around the country. Trees will be planted at sites including Wolverhampton, Hackney and Newcastle, where David Bellamy, the campaign ambassador, will be planting trees at his local orchard.
The Copella Plant & Protect campaign has gone from strength to strength since its launch in April 2011, with 18,000 consumers pledging their support for the campaign to date. Meanwhile, over 13,000 limited edition Copella-themed Emma Bridgewater mugs have been redeemed via an on-pack offer in Waitrose and over 5,000 Cox's Orange Pippin trees have been redeemed via an on-pack offer at Sainsbury's.
