Magic Breakfast provides fuel for learning
Magic Breakfast is a registered charity that delivers free, healthy breakfast foods to UK primary schools with more than 50% free school meals. In the UK 3.8m children grow up in severe income poverty. Magic Breakfast seeks to provide many of these school children with a nutritious breakfast that they would otherwise miss out on.
How are PepsiCo involved?
Our Quaker and Tropicana brands have worked with Magic Breakfast since 2007 to donate porridge oats and fruit juices to breakfast clubs in primary schools serving deprived communities. In 2009 Quaker and Tropicana helped Magic Breakfast provide an estimated 80,000 breakfasts for school children. Together, we aim to reach 250 schools by the end of 2012.
This would result in 10,000 children benefiting from a healthy, nutritious breakfast at the start of every school day - an estimated total of 2m breakfasts a year.
In 2009/10 Quaker raised an additional £100,000 for Magic Breakfast through on-pack promotion.
