C3 Collaborating for Health

C3 Collaborating for Health is a not-for-profit organisation, based in London and working globally. Its vision is for the eradication of preventable chronic disease worldwide.

C3 was established in 2009, and grew out of the Oxford Health Alliance. Its director is Christine Hancock, former General Secretary of the Royal College of Nursing. C3's mission is to foster partnerships and build collaboration between the different organisations that, between them, can overcome the many barriers to eating well, stopping smoking and being physically active.

  • C3 works with health professionals and community leaders / key health advocates to change attitudes to health and health-care in communities.
  • C3 works with businesses to help develop their core activities in more healthy ways.
  • C3 helps to develop fresh approaches to promoting health in the workplace.

C3 brings together policy-makers, businesses, government, teachers, health experts, young professionals, academics and others to share ideas, develop policies and catalyse action to improve health. C3 believes that only by working together can we make it easier to be healthy.

C3 and PepsiCo UK

PepsiCo has worked with C3 (and, before that, the Oxford Health Alliance) since 2007. We have hosted roundtable events and workshops together to promote discussion within the food and drink industry about public health.

Through C3, PepsiCo are able to bring outside expertise on health and wellness into our business. This ensures that our strategies are comprehensive and informed by experts.

Developing a PepsiCo approach to health and wellness

As a key partner, C3 helped us form a strategy for healthier growth by providing valued expertise and helping us engage with leading stakeholders. You can read more about our strategy for healthier growth in our Health Report 2010.
