Walkers, the UK's No. 1 crisps and snacks manufacturer, is spicing up the premium crisps category with an exotic new addition to its market leading Sensations range. The delicious new Roasted Tomato & Aromatic Spices variant combines the flavour of slow-roasted tomatoes with warm Indian spices to captivate consumers and make sales sizzle!
Last year, 55% of all NPD crisps, snacks and nuts sales came from sharing bags. Charles Allen, Marketing Director for Walkers, says, "As the trend for staying in continues, the sharing sales opportunity for our customers will continue to increase, and with the World Cup tournament coming up in June, we anticipate even more demand for products like Sensations. We know that consumers love the exotic flavours that Sensations deliver and this new flavour will be no exception, offering greater variety for them and driving incremental sales for our customers."
Following the re-launch in 2009, supported by marketing investment and a new improved recipe - made without MSG, artificial colours and preservatives - the Sensations brand was bought by over a third of all UK households and generated sales of £63 million*, making them a premium sharing brand of choice. Retailers are advised to stock up on the full range of Sensations flavours to drive sales.
