Tropicana Smoothies Bursts Onto Screen With Explosive New TV Ad

30 March 2008

Tropicana, the UK's no.1 juice brand[1], will be bursting onto our screens this spring with an explosive TV ad campaign for its new range of premium smoothies.

The vibrant and dramatic twenty second ad shows a range of exotic fruits exploding like colourful fireworks onto a black screen replicating the night sky while consumers are introduced to the strapline 'A spectacular blend of the finest fruit'.

Part of a much wider marketing investment by Tropicana to drive growth in the smoothie sector - currently the second biggest segment in chilled, worth £210m and growing at 30% year-on-year[2] - the ad has been designed to capture the imagination of consumers

Like Tropicana Smoothies, launched in February this year, the ad will be bursting with flavour as fruits such as mangos, passion fruits and pineapples are blown up using pioneering pyrotechnic techniques. The ad aims to convey Tropicana's dedication to sourcing and blending the best fruit for its pure fruit smoothies.

Adrian Baty, Senior Brand Manager, Tropicana says: 'We believe that this campaign will engage with consumers in an impactful way and help us grow the smoothie sector which we believe could be worth £300 million in just two year's time. Consumers are looking for a name that they can trust in the chiller cabinet and this ad will reinforce awareness of Tropicana Smoothies. This is a great opportunity for retailers to capitalise on the sales opportunity that the TV campaign presents."

The new Tropicana Smoothie ad airs on the 1st April for and will run throughout 2008 across a wide range of terrestrial and sky channels.

Tropicana Smoothies are available in five exciting flavours; 'strawberry & banana', 'mango, passionfruit & pineapple', 'blackberry & blueberry', 'raspberry & pomegranate' and 'apple, pear & cranberry', in both 1 litre and 250ml bottles with an RRP of £2.99 for 1 litre and £1.79 for 250ml.
