Speakers include Andrew Cooper of insights company Populus and Professor Jack Winkler of London Metropolitan University. The discussion will consider the best ways to nudge consumers towards healthier choices as a way of addressing public health concerns.
Additional speakers Tal Gilbert of Pru Health and Professor Theresa Marteau, Professor of Health Psychology, King's College London will join academics, NGOs, representatives from government and the civil service, marketing and advertising professions.
The discussion will:
- Identify the barriers to behaviour change, and the tactics and strategies likely to be most successful - looking at the latest evidence from behavioural economics, psychology and consumer insights
- Identify best practice in moving consumers to healthier products as a way of addressing public health issues
- Identify practical steps that food and drink companies and/or retailers can take to help consumers make the switch
- Widen the network of companies and organisations that are committed to taking steps to help consumers choose healthier options.The event will be held on the 12th November 2009.
