Child poverty and hunger are pressing priorities - particularly in these worrying economic times. Nutritious meals are essential for a child's ability to learn and achieve their full potential. Together Quaker, Tropicana, Magic Breakfast, and the schools it supports, will be able to help children get the most out of every school day - making a good-quality nutritious breakfast an everyday reality for thousands and ensuring none of those children is too hungry to learn.
The partnership, currently supporting 44 schools, hopes to reach 140 by the end of 2009, and 250 by 2011 - eventually touching 10,000 children every single day: a total of 2,000,000 breakfasts per year.
The partnership, by leveraging surplus stock, has also helped reduce Quaker and Tropicana waste levels, ensuring the initiative also delivers clear environmental and financial sustainability.
