PepsiCo Invests in Nutrition Research Institute
Company will open a research institute in the Core Research Laboratory at the North Carolina Research Campus

Dr. Mehmood Khan, chief scientific officer, said the company will renovate and upfit a 4,000-square-foot research facility in the Core Lab and work on how to make healthier foods.
"We have a very simple motto: Performance with a purpose," Khan said. "Our scientific mission is how can we develop the products of the future that are healthy and nurturing."
