Naked Juice has partnered with the Rainforest Alliance to ensure people working in areas where its products are grown have sustainable livelihoods, wildlife and local environments. Naked Juice will now carry the Rainforest Alliance Certified seal on all juice products which contain bananas.
Mike Durham, General Manager of Naked Juice U.S. commented: "Working with the Rainforest Alliance is a great way to make a big difference - one banana at a time".
Certification from the Alliance is given to farms which meet strict sustainability criteria. Farms which produce bananas for Naked Juice will:
- Grow products in a way that protects the environment including protecting wildlife habitats
- Improve conditions for agricultural workers including providing safe and clean drinking water
- Provide access for workers and families to schools and healthcare
- Implement better business practices including decreasing the use of pesticides
