The carbon labels on packets of Walkers Crisps were featured in Leader Business 2.0, a Forum for the Future report which highlights cutting edge sustainability practice.
PepsiCo were singled out alongside Boots and Tesco for showing leadership in pioneering carbon labelling in the UK.
The report suggested Walkers carbon labels "signal to consumers not only that the company has measured the carbon footprint of a popular product, but also that it has committed to reducing the embedded carbon of that product within two years". PepsiCo has been able to pin point the biggest climate related impacts within its supply chain and make tangible energy savings as a result of carbon labelling. It has also begun to work with suppliers to further reduce emissions.
