Peterlee Manufacturing Director Nominated for 'everywoman' Award
UK's largest female business community showcase Tracey Foster as an inspirational woman
13 February 2012
The Manufacturing Director at PepsiCo's Peterlee site has been nominated for a 2012 'everywoman' in Technology Award. Tracey Foster is one of four finalists in the Inspirational Female Leaders category.
A panel of 12 Judges have highlighted Tracey and three other women including, Alix Pryde, Director of Distribution for the BBC and Emer Timmons, President for BT Global Services, as some of the UK's most successful and talented women working within a technology based role in organisations larger than 500 employees.
The annual 'everywoman' awards showcase the diverse range of careers offered by the sector and profile the women who are leading the way, as even though the total UK workforce is 47% female, only 18% of them are IT & Telecoms professionals. This number has declined from down from 22% in 2001. The award also highlights PepsiCo's and other organisations as businesses which are committed to investing in their female workforce.
Commenting on her achievement, Tracey said:
"I am delighted to be recognised as an inspirational female within the Technology sector. It is a true pleasure not only personally but for PepsiCo, who work hard to remain as a top 50 UK employer for women."
Maxine Benson MBE, Co-founder of everywoman says:
"These women are shining examples of the diverse and rewarding opportunities that are available within the information technology sector. Despite the current challenges facing the UK economy, technology is a growth area, and encouraging more inspirational women like these to pursue a career within the industry can only aid this positive growth potential."
The winner will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 29th March at the Savoy.
