El Bulli's Ferran Adrià talks snack innovation with PepsiCo

World reknowned El Bulli Chef Ferran Adrià discusses "the next generation of snacks" with PepsiCo's innovation team

Ferran Adrià, of the owners of the renowned restaurant El Bulli, recently joined PepsiCo's Research & Development team in Leicester for a knowledge session on combining scientific innovation with natural ingredients. The World-famous Spanish chef is working with PepsiCo to create exciting new snack foods and broaden PepsiCo's portfolio of tasty and healthier snacks.



Talking with PepsiCo's European R&D team, Ferran showcased many of the creative techniques that helped his team of chefs at El Bulli create numerous inspiriting and innovative dishes and ultimately win praise from food critics around the world.

The session followed the announcement in June 2011 that Ferran would work with PepsiCo on a global level to help develop new methods and concepts for creative food innovation. The partnership will enable PepsiCo to turn culinary inspiration into brand new flavours, tastes and experiences for consumers to enjoy in their favourite PepsiCo products. The global partnership builds of the six years successful relationship between Ferran and PepsiCo Spain.



Ian Noble, Senior Director for Breakthrough Foods and the person responsible for Chef Adrià's visit, said:"Through the partnership, we hope to achieve a step change in the way we create our products by combining our expertise and Ferran's innovation to create products that customers will love. Ferran is simply the best in the world when it comes to food innovation, he brings a passion and love for food that inspires us to be innovative and creative."

Listening to Ferran at Beaumont Park, PepsiCo's European R&D Centre located in Leicester, was PepsiCo Europe's Innovation Chef Nick Aiello. Nick commented:
