In recent years, PepsiCo UK has responded to public health concerns by tackling the core of its business, reducing salt and saturated fat on crisps and snacks, and building strong no-sugar cola brands. We've achieved a great deal, but we're committed to going further.

PepsiCo UK has outlined a 10 year plan to focus future profit and growth on healthier products.

PepsiCo UK's first Health Report sets out commitments to transform our product portfolio to meet consumer demand for healthier products.

In recent years, we have responded to rising public concerns about health and obesity by reducing the salt and saturates in our core Walkers products, building strong no-sugar cola brands and acquiring Quaker and Tropicana. However, we recognise that can only be a first step and we need to go further.

Over the next few years we will expand our delivery of positive nutrition - fruit, fibre, wholegrain, vegetables and micronutrients; we will also renovate the core of our business, reshaping the savoury snack and soft drink categories.

Key pledges in our Health Report include:

  • By 2012 we will deliver 1.8bn servings of fruit and vegetables, and 1.7bn servings of wholegrain per annum
  • By 2015 50% of our savoury snacks will be baked or include positive nutrition
  • By 2015 65% of carbonated soft drink can and bottle sales will be no-sugar
  • By 2015 we will introduce a single serve calorie cap of 160 calories across all of savoury snacks that don't include positive nutrition

By 2020 our profit and growth will be driven by healthier products.
